Auto mufflers – i.e. resonators — have their sub assembly inside of them. The sub assembly consists of tubes and baffles. The sub assembly is inserted into cases which already have been flanged-up.
Each resonator is firmly fixed to the inner faces of the cases. To properly adhere the resonator, a very tight insertion by high pressure is applied during the inserting process.  Insert & Spot Welding Machine is applied to make the cases and sub assembly into one unit.
